KFC Popcorn Chicken Recipe

Many of you have cooked and eaten a variety of meals, but KFC’s popcorn chicken recipe is the first thing that you might have craved. These days it is a children’s favorite. You can get them to do anything by using popcorn chicken as a bribe. I always wanted to crack the code of KFC’s Popcorn Chicken recipe so that I could also make it for my family and receive the applause. I did lots of experiments and consulted many websites to find a recipe at least close to it, if not an exact replica. I came across something which was not only close to KFC’s popcorn chicken recipe but actually tasted better! It has won critical acclaim from many gourmets. One tip before starting. With good, quality basic ingredients and good cooking skills with basic equipment, you can make a creative and delicious recipe. Read on to try it at home.

Ingredients 

 

  • 100 grams of boneless and skinless chicken breast to make it as soft as you can.
  • 2 teaspoons of all-purpose flour mixed with secret herb combination (1 teaspoon ground oregano, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon dried sage, 1 teaspoon dried basil, 1 teaspoon dried marjoram, 1 teaspoon pepper, 2 teaspoons salt, 2 tablespoons paprika, 1 teaspoon onion salt, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 2  tablespoons Accent (MSG)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of powdered sugar. This is for sweet flavor of real popcorn.
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt plus
  • 1/8 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons of milk (fat-free)
  • 3/4 cup of Panko bread crumbs to make it crispy











  • olive oil spray for greasing
  • For sprinkling you will require freshly ground pepper and salt

Cooking Directions

 










  1. Preheat the oven to 475 degree Fahrenheit.
  2. Spray some olive oil on a nonstick baking sheet.
  3. Cut the chicken pieces in small size (up to the size of table tennis ball) with the help of scissors. Cut 24-25 even sized chicken.
  4. Take a large size bowl and whisk together flour, onion powder, pepper, salt and sugar.
  5. Coat the small chicken pieces with above flour mixture.
  6. Take a small bowl. Whisk the egg white and the milk until it becomes smooth.
  7. Place the bread crumbs on a small piece of waxed paper and keep it beside the egg mixture.
  8. Dip the flour coated chicken into the egg-milk mixture.
  9. Coated the piece with the bread crumbs.
  10. Repeat the above two steps.
  11. Now place the marinated chicken pieces on the non stick baking sheet.
  12. Spray olive oil, salt and black pepper on the chicken pieces.
  13. Bake the seasoned chicken pieces for 5 minutes. Do not forget to flip them meanwhile.
  14. To make better chicken popcorn pressure-fry them instead of baking them. 


Tip:  Keep some spices in a small spice box so that your larger stores need not be exposed to the air every time you need just a small amount.

KFC Fried Chicken recipe

 

 

Ingredients

  • Chicken breast fillet with skin/leg pieces with skin 6
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • White pepper 1/2 tsp
  • Red chillie powder 1 tsp
  • Egg 2
  • corn flour 4 tbsp
  • Tikka masalah optional 1/4th packet
  • FOR COATING:
  • Dry flour 1/4 kg
  • Corn flour 1/4 kg
  • Baking powder 1 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • oil for frying

Cooking Directions

  1. Put chicken breast on slap ham with hammer lightly on both sides and if you are using leg pieces put small cuts on both sides with the help of knife now put in bowl add salt,black pepper,white pepper,tikka masalah,red chillies,hand beated eggs,mix well and leave for 15 min
  2. Take a bowl mix 1/4 kg flour and 1/4 kg corn flour with baking powder,black pepper and salt mix well
  3. now come very tricky part its really easy but you have to concentrate on this very care fully Dip Step 1 into Step 2 and rub well with hands not tightly but well lightly
  4. Take another bowl filled with water and dip rubbed chicken piece in water while holding chicken piece from very end and count to 10 then
  5. Shake the piece in air for 3 secnd so remove excess water
  6. Put again the pieces in 2 and rub again and again shake the piece in air to remove excess flour by doing that u will already see crubs forming on chicken pieces
  7. Now deep fry for exactly 7-10 min  (my advice fry one piece at time.)
  8. Ready to serve

KFC Potato Wedges Recipe


The Colonel was in the kitchen one day and had an idea what to do with the potatoes that he had and he came up with the Potato Wedges. They used to be made fresh but due to the invention of the frozen fry they are sent to the stores frozen and ready to cook.

KFC Potato Wedges
Start with lightly battered Potato Wedges and season them with savory herbs and spices for a full flavor. A great addition to any KFC meal.

Ingredients:
  • shortening for Frying
  • 5 Baking potatoes cut into Wedges
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon MSG
  • 1/4 teaspoon Paprika
  • dash of garlic powder

Cooking Directions:

Preheat shortening in to 375°F. Cut the potatoes into 16 to 18 equalside wedges. Mix the egg and milk till well blended in a big bowl. Mix the dry ingredients into a large bowl. Put some potatoes in the milk and egg then into the flour mixture till well coated. Fry in fryer for 3 minutes remove from the oil and allow them to sit for one minute and then cook them again for 5 minutes or until cooked. It may take up to 6 minutes.

KFC Gravy Recipe


The KFC Gravy used to be made fresh with the Cracklings. Now it comes in a pouch and all you have to do is add water. Thank god for modified starch products. Like the Chicken recipes Gravy is another immensely popular item in the KFC menu. It has a distinct taste and liked by many people around the world.

KFC Gravy

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons shortening, melted
  • 3 tablespoons of Original Breading Flour
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 can Campbell’s Condensed Chicken Stock
  • 1 can water

Cooking Directions:

First we are going to make a roux with the melted shortening and 1 1/2 tablespoon of breading flour. Cook this over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until the roux browns in color to resemble a nice milk chocolate color. Once the mixture turns brown remove it from the heat and add the remaining flour and slowly add the liquid(s) to incorporate it so no lumps. Bring the mixture to a boil and boil for 2 minutes reduce the heat and allow the mixture to thicken which would take about 3 to 5 minutes.

*That is just the flour that you use to bread the chicken with.

KFC Mashed Potatoes Recipe


The mashed potatoes are served and made by mix. It comes in a bag just add water and butter. Many people just come to KFC to get these potatoes and gravy.

KFC Mashed Potatoes
Whipped Mashed Potatoes with delicious brown Gravy. They go together like the Colonel and KFC.

Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 cups Idaho Potato Flakes
  • 1 stick Margarine
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 1/2 cups Hot Water
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Cooking Directions:

Heat water add butter and margarine till melted. Add the salt and cook for 2 minutes. Add the flakes and mix till it looks like regular potatoes. Add milk to proper consistency. Serve with gravy. Serves 6

KFC Pecan Pie Recipe




Ingredients:
  • 4 Eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar
  • 4 Tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2/3 cup pecan halves
  • 1 9-inch unbaked pie shell

Cooking Directions:

Preheat oven to 325-350ºF. Mix together the first seven ingredients listed above. Stir in 2/3 cup pecan halves. Pour the mixture into an unbaked pie shell. Bake 35-40 minutes.
